An African-American television director and his wife. A Mexican locksmith. Two car-jackers. A rookie cop. A middle-aged Korean couple… They all live in Los Angeles. And during the next 36 hours, they will all collide… Challenging and thought-provoking, Lions Gate Films’ CRASH takes a provocative, unflinching look at the complexities of racial tolerance in contemporary America. Diving headlong into the diverse melting pot of post-9/11 Los Angeles, this compelling urban drama tracks the volatile intersections of a multi-ethnic cast of characters’ struggles to overcome their fears as they careen in and out of one another’s lives. In the gray area between black and white, victim and aggressor, there are no easy answers… |

Miss Congeniality (2000) Character: Gracie Hart/Gracie Lou Freebush Sandra Bullock stars as a bumbling female FBI agent assigned to go undercover as a participant in the Miss United States beauty pageant when it is discovered that one of the contestants is being targeted for murder. Benjamin Bratt leads the undercover team, while also playing the reluctant love interest. Candice Bergen and William Shatner manage the pageant and hire Michael Caine to turn Bullock from a rough and tumble agent to a stunning beauty queen. The physical transformation is impressive, although the klutzy personality remains. Everything seems to be fine once the killer is suddenly caught, but Bullock suspects there is more to this story, and the truth eventually unfolds with an unexpected twist. For her part, Bullock received a Golden Globe nomination for best actress, and heads the star-studded cast in the year's most hilarious comedy. |

Practical Magic (1998) Character: Sally Owens Come along for a touching story of two very different sisters with two very different lives. One wanted to be free wherever she could spread her wings, while the other searched for happiness wherever she could find it. Although, they did have a few things in common. They both followed a magical lifestyle, they were both burdened with the centuries-old, Owens Family Curse, but, most of all, they both just wanted to be loved. Sandra Bullock glows in this unforgettable, heartwarming film that truly shows what it means to be loved and that no matter what you go through, you always make it through to the other side. She plays the spicy Sally Owens, the latest in the family to be targeted be the curse, besides her sassy sister, Jillian, of course. Join them on their journey to finding love, losing it, and then finding it again. Now, kick back by candlelight, snuggle up with your favorite pillow, and enjoy while Sandra casts her most enchanting spell yet! And, in the words of Sally Owens, "Always throw spilt salt over your left shoulder, keep rosemary by your garden gate, plant lavender for luck, and fall in love whenever you can." -- Dalton James Dowdy |
